Credit Research Analyst

Your team

Pictet Asset Management manages the assets of some of the world’s largest institutions, financial intermediaries and their clients. Our culture welcomes independent thinkers and centres on investment excellence, a long-term perspective and dedication to client service.
As a Credit Research Analyst, you will become part of the Developed Markets Credit - Credit Research team based in Geneva to strengthen the Credit Research Team of Pictet Asset Management (Pictet AM), its institutional asset management arm. In this role, you will be able to provide long and short investment ideas on corporate bonds by analysing issuer fundamentals and credit risk. In doing so, you will build conviction and provide detailed opinions on various factors (economic and financial performance, changes in business conditions, the investment case and fair value), influence and monitor changes to the positions in the portfolios.

Your role

  • Initiating and monitoring investment ideas across the capital structure on developed market IG and HY corporate credit issuers (mainly for Europe and the US).

  • Assessing the fundamentals and ESG credentials of companies across the rating spectrum.

  • Delivering actionable trades based on the trends and themes driving the sector, the risks associated with the companies' business activities, their financial strength, strategy and management.

  • Monitoring the credits and regularly sharing with portfolio managers any relevant information regarding the portfolio positions in day-to-day discussions and in the form of name-specific and sector notes.

  • Working closely with the different investment teams in the Fixed Income department spanning a range of asset classes and fund categories, and suggesting transactions based on fundamentals and relative value.

  • Monitoring issuers in the sector in which the money-market funds invest.

  • Working closely with other analysts in the team, exchanging ideas and providing back-up, actively contributing to team projects and initiatives.

Your profile

  • University degree or qualification deemed equivalent.

  • Five to ten years' experience in credit analysis acquired with an asset management company or an investment bank, with a focus on investments and relative value idea generation.

  • In-depth knowledge of corporate bond analysis; good knowledge of Euro credit markets, US issuers and market knowledge a plus.

  • The role will encompass both IG and HY portfolios, although specific HY experience is a prerequisite.

  • Proficient user of the most common office IT solutions (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as the Bloomberg financial application. Knowledge of coding language would be a plus.

  • Perfect command of English and, ideally, another European language.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.

  • Must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Geneva.
