360 Labs Initiative at a Glance



The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.





The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Job Mission and Impact



The 360 Labs Initiative is seeking a Matrix Leader for Platform Infrastructure & Operations. You will have a strong background in scientific operations and the implementation and operational management of high-end scientific instrumentation integrated into focused customer-centric technology platforms to enable scientific research. You will operate as a part of a matrix team and serve as a key thought and implementation partner to the Global Head, pRED 360 Labs, collaborating closely with each of the 360 Labs Technology Platform heads, as well as key stakeholders from pRED Facilities & Infrastructure to develop a holistic, future-proof strategy for the implementation and operational management of the 360 Labs Technology Platform infrastructure ecosystem.





Your Role and Responsibilities




  • You serve as a key member of the 360 Labs Leadership Team, working in close collaboration with the Global Head, and the rest of the LT to develop and evolve a bold vision for technology platform infrastructure management and operations to enable the successful implementation of the 360 Labs strategic initiative ensuring an optimized balance between cost and flexibility;




  • You collect, refine and challenge the infrastructure requirements for each of the 360 Labs Technology Platforms; acting as a key leader for all infrastructure- and operations- related activities, including, but not limited to’ user representative for laboratory planning and design; 360 Labs SPOC for laboratory / equipment moves; development and management of platform technology CapEx investment strategy; optimization of usage across infrastructure asset lifecycles; coordination of service and maintenance activities;




  • You will develop and evolve a lab operations strategy including, but not limited to, implementation of services and processes for effective and efficient laboratory management (e.g. ordering, logistics, SHE, outsourcing, sample management, waste management); coordination of Lab Manager personnel, activities and service offerings across the 360 Labs Technology Platforms; ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with other pRED lab management groups and site activities (e.g. Avator services, CLS).







Your Profile




  • You have a Ph.D. degree in the life sciences with at least 5 years of professional operations experience in early drug discovery & development environments within the Pharmaceutical industry, with a track record of increasing project leadership roles to develop infrastructure for research laboratories, managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships whilst operating within a highly complex matrix-type organization;




  • You have well-rounded communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build trust-based relationships and networks to facilitate engagement of resources outside of direct-control to gain consensus, meet deadlines and achieve stated goals and objectives in a highly diverse environment;




  • You are a detail-oriented, methodical professional who thoroughly documents project discussions, decisions and actions.

  • Are resourceful and flexible in problem solving, have excellent organizational skills, and are able to work as agile matrix leads with a sense of urgency in a fair, open and collaborative manner, ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times;




  • Can think outside the box and work in diverse, multicultural, global teams, with a demonstrated ability to implement new ideas in fast-paced research environments




  • Bring excellent written communication and presentation skills with a high fluency in English.
